Halloween Scavenger Hunt and Party at Rock Creek

Parents,

Our Halloween Party will be at Rock Creek Park on October 30, 2014.  We will have a hot dog roast, marshmallows, and I will provide this.  I need help with some veggie platters and fruit platters and perhaps potato salad or macaroni, or both. I will also need your help with Halloween Treats.  Any thing you would care to bring would be appreciated.   If you can help please send a note with your child, or call me at 420-8567.  We will leave at 11:00 AM and return at 2:45.  Your child will also need a digital camera as the scavenger hunt is taking pictures of different items. Please make sure your child has one, or at least let me know.   

Also, on Tuesday, November 4th, we are going to make an Idaho Map with salt dough.  Please send  2 batches of salt dough to school on the 4th.  Recipe is below

4 cups all-purpose flour

1 and 1/2 cups of water

1 Cup of Salt.

Mix together and knead  until pliable, put in a baggie and send to school on the 4th of November.

Please if you have any questions please call.  Thank you for all you do.  You are welcome to join us at the park that day, just let me know.  Mrs. Adams has volunteered to help and  I know that we could use some extra help for lunch.  Any help will be appreciated.

Parents,

I am giving an all call alert to you.  The class as a whole needs to know their math facts.  They are having a very hard time working problems because they don't know their facts.  I have set the end of October to know them by.  We will be working on math quizzes from time to time to try and get them to know their facts.  

Also I just wanted to give you a heads up that on October 30th, we will be going to Rock Creek Park.  We will have a hot dog roast, for lunch.  I need a couple of volunteers to help with the hot dogs.  I will also need parents to send treats for Halloween, and also some chips, dip etc.  I will send notes home next week for you to sign up for this.  If you can volunteer to help with the picnic please let me know.

Getting to Know the Blog

Parents,

     Finally I have a minute to post to our blog.  I will try my very best to keep you informed on this blog for upcoming events, special assignments, homework, a cry for help, just about anything might be on this blog.  Hopefully I can keep you involved in all that goes on in this class.

     Just a reminder that there is no school on October 2, 3, 2014.  It is State Inservice.

     The class is coming along very nice.  This is the beginning of the fifth week and you will begin to see grades in the grade book.  I will send home your codes to get into Power School on Friday night.  I don't take a lot of grades, I want them to work on learning rather than worrying about a 100 on a paper.  I observe, we work on things together, so I know they are mastering it.  I also use the Straight Ace print outs to know where they are.  They are all working hard and we have already come a long way in math.

     Please let me know if I can help in any way to make things easier, work for your schedule etc. 

     Once again thank you so very much for the opportunity to have your child in this class.  It is wonderful.
